Glass as a material fascinates me and I am drawn by its fragility, translucency and hidden strengths.

As a kiln-formed glass artist working in 3D and mixed media, I use the “lost wax” casting process which involves the making of wax models and building moulds for casting glass.

My main work is conceptually based, using ideas and images which draw on places and events around me. Some of my current work has been related to my personal experiences and feelings.

To date it has included the closure of the coal pits, consumerism and pollution, and my early childhood. I also enjoy exploring textures and investigating the use of glass to create simple forms, (organic shapes, bowls, blocks and geometric shapes).

I currently have a studio with The Digswell Arts Trust in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, which was awarded in 2005, and have moved to Ely, Cambridgeshire where I am hoping to set up my own studio.
